We’ve all heard the age old saying that hard work pays off and it couldn’t be more true than when it comes to events. In April, we worked with Sydney Hills Business Chamber to put together one of their major events, the annual Chairman’s Lunch, which was a sold out success.
There were big ticks all around for the event. Amazing food? Check! Great staff? Check! Relevant and engaging speakers? Check! Lively atmosphere? Check and check!
Hosted by Chairman Anthony Moss, attendees heard from the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of NSW as well as a panel of experts – Professor Ed Blakely (Future Cities Collaborative), Mark McCrindle (McCrindle), Michael Edgar (The Hills Shire Council) and Steve Grant (Capital Bluestone).
Chairman Anthony Moss kick started the luncheon with his opening address. Mark McCrindle then discussed the results of the 2017 Hill Shire Business Performance Sentiment Index, which delivers a snapshot of how businesses in the region are tracking and captures the current pulse of local businesses. Professor Ed Blakely gave the audience his own perspective of the Hills and its development. The Premier of NSW then took to the stage and discussed her experience with the Hills from a political stance and the challenges faced by the people of the Hills.
Anthony Moss then hosted a panel discussion with Professor Blakely, Mark McCrindle and Michael Edgar, acting general manager of the Hills Shire Council and Steve Grant of Capital Bluestone. There was great interaction between audience members and speakers. The panel answered questions and concerns raised by members of the Chamber. Everyone walked away with a clear understanding of the vision of the future for the Hills and the challenges and opportunities to come.
We want to give a big thank you to all those who helped us make what we do look easy – Novotel Sydney Norwest, International Productions, Daisy Chain, and most importantly the team at Sydney Hills Business Chamber.
